Show Me How- 500 Things You Should Know

Show Me How500 Things You Should Know- Instructions for life from the everyday to the exotic by Derek Fagerstrom, Lauren Smith and the Show Me Team is just an amazing book.

Show Me How is a really neat reference book/how to guide. But it is not like any other book I have seen. It is a series of 500 nearly wordless step by step instructions. It shows readers how to do hundreds of different tasks.

Want to learn how to use chopsticks, roll a maki sushi roll, bathe a baby, shimmy up a rock chimney, hem a pair of jeans, or identify cuts of beef? This book will show you how as well as 494 more.

From the Harper-Collins website:
"Packed with useful hands-on reference material, Show Me How is a work of art that just happens to also be an indispensable real-life resource."

Ore-Ida Steam N Mash Potatoes Review

I love food. All kinds of food. I was recently given the opportunity to review Ore-Ida Steam N Mash Potatoes.

Anytime I can make food easily, I am a happy camper. If it tastes good, then I am happy. If it tastes great, then I am really happy. And well, if it tastes so good, that I can pretend it is homemade, well then I know it is just awesome. Yep, that is how good this was. If I did not tell hubby about it, I am pretty sure that he would not have even known that I did not sit there peeling potatoes.

This is a must have for the busy mommy, especially during the busy holiday time. Thanks to She Speaks for the opportunity to try these yummy potatoes.

One Fifth Avenue by Candace Bushnell

I liked the TV series Sex and the City. I thought it was fun, but I was not totally into it like many people that I know. When given the opportunity to read and review One Fifth Avenue I was excited because, well, I love books, but not sure how I would feel about the book itself, if that makes any sense (and if not, too bad, LOL).

I LOVED IT! I have actually read it a few times already. It was one of those books that once I started reading, I could not put it down until I was done. I loved the characters, and their interactions. I was really interested down to the very end of the book.

You can buy it from Amazon right here. If you have an adult who loves to read on your holiday list, I STRONGLY recommend going to buy it right now.

Thanks to Parent Reviewers for the opportunity to review this great book.

Toobeez: Building Tomorrow's Creative Thinkers

We were lucky enough to be able to review Toobeez.

If you are like me, you have never heard of Toobeez before. I got the box and opened it up and was not entirely sure what to do with all the pieces. And then I looked at the instructions.
From the website:
"TOOBEEZ® is a life-sized construction building system comprised of interlocking tubes and spheres."
How cool are they! It is like life-sized tinkertoys. Sara loves it. Right now we have a big house that we built out of Toobeez in the basement that Sara loves to go in and out of.

I must admit that hubby and I actually had a really fun time building with them as well. If you are looking for a great, educational toy for the holidays, I strongly suggest Toobeez for the kids (or adults, LOL) on your list.

Thanks to the Family Review Network for the chance to review this spectacular toy!

I recently received a copy of the CD "Strong, Lovin' and Fun" by Groovy Ruby. Talk about fun! Groovy Ruby plays kids music the way that kids music should be.

The Secret Mountain Collection

It is no secret that we love to read. So of course we were so excited when Team Mom gave us the opportunity to review three books from The Secret Mountain publishing group.

They produce amazing illustrated storybooks. Each book comes with a CD filled with music that compliments the story. We absolutely loved them. Sara loved to look at the pictures and the CDs were just wonderful as well.

Our favorite was Dream Songs Night Songs- From Belgium to Brazil. It is the third release from the award-winning critically-acclaimed collection of lullabies from around the world, sung in the language of origin, plus an illustrated bedtime story – in French, English, and Spanish – about an imaginary journey to unknown lands. It all comes together and is just beautiful.

These would make a wonderful holiday gift for any child. You can purchase them directly at the website.

Baby Lists: What to Do and What to Get to Prepare for Baby by Elaine Farber

I was asked to review Baby Lists: What to Do and What to Get to Prepare for Baby by Elaine Farber.

What a great book to get for a mom to be! From how to choose a hospital to how to childproof your house, this book goes over it all. It is easy to read and chock full of great information.

The best part (at least to me) is that it is in a checklist format. I love lists and the fact that this has all the lists written out for you already is awesome! You can actually go through and check items off as you need them. In addition, the appendix is an online shopping guide.

About the Author
Elaine Farber is a newborn consultant and a mother of three who has coached hundreds of families through early parenting. She has worked in hospital nurseries, run a daycare center, provided consultation to expectant parents, and nannied for families with newborns (90 percent of whom were multiples) for more than twenty-five years. She lives in San Matteo, CA.

This is a great baby shower gift. You can get it right now at Amazon right now.

I was lucky enough to review a CD by Lauren Mayer. I actually listened to it this weekend. It is hysterical! I was actually in a really bad mood and I put the CD in and within minutes I was laughing and just thinking- hey I can totally relate! My favorites were "Grownups Get To Have Fun Too" and "The Word Is No".

Lauren Mayer is an award-winning, critically-acclaimed entertainer. She uses comedy, original music and customized writing to make each show fit her audience. She has performed for hundreds of women's groups, fundraisers, and corporate clients.

I am still here, I promise

Ok, I know that in order to have a good blog, you actually have to post on it, and in order to have a good review blog, that you have to actually review items. I am going to be getting back in the saddle with reviews. I have a bunch of other stuff going on in my life (that I will write about very soon!).
My new goal that I am setting for myself is a review every other day...wish me luck!
