Alice.com: Review

This is a re-post from over a year ago.  I felt it was worth posting again.

THE REVIEW:

This year I have decided that in addition to finding products that will save me time as a busy mommy, I also need to find things that will save me money as well.

I was pretty thrilled to find Alice.com Alice is a website that you can go to in order to manage all of your home essentials, find the best prices online, eliminate emergency store trips, get automatic coupons on 1000's of products and best of all- shipping is always free.

When you sign up for Alice.com if you do it from a referral, you can get a code for $10 off once you have purchased $50. We happen to need some household supplies so we figured that we would give Alice a try. We bought toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing detergent, laundry detergent, deodorant, floor cleaner for the cats. Alice applied $7.15 in coupons for us. I also used my $10 code since it came to over $50 (and of course shipping is always free). My subtotal (without tax) was $52.12, the total I paid was $37.68. Am I so happy? Absolutely. We placed our order on the 28th and received our order on the 4th. I am pretty sure it is normally quicker but the holiday slowed it down.

Another great thing with Alice.com is that you can set it to give you reorder alerts so that when you need something new, Alice will remind you about it. And there is a section to help with budgetting. You can search for your items by entering the name, or by room. And they do have green/organic products as well.

I don't have a giveaway with this one, but if you sign using my referral link you can get the $10 off coupon to apply once you have spent $50. And you do not need to spend the $50 all at once. It will be applied to your account once you have spent $50, so if it takes 1 month or 6, it does not matter. Let me know what you think.
FROM THE COMPANY:
Alice is here to help

Let’s face it; you can probably think of a thousand things you’d rather do than drive to the store again and again for toilet paper, toothpaste, trash bags and the dozens of other home essentials that keep your home running. We can too. That’s why we started Alice.

The Internet has changed the way we shop for things like books, clothing, shoes and electronics. We buy online for the convenience and the power we have to get product reviews, choose brands, see price comparisons, and make better choices.

But when it comes to home essentials, we still trudge off to the store, load up the cart, and haul a trunk-load of stuff out the parking lot. Why? Because no one has come up with an efficient, cost-effective way to buy these goods online. Until now.

Alice provides you a better way to manage all of your household essentials online. You tell Alice what you buy—choosing from great deals on 1000’s of products—and Alice goes to work. We organize all of your products, find coupons and deals for you, remind you when you might be running low, and help you order just the items you need so you can avoid that trip to the corner drugstore or the big-box store. Best of all, you won’t over pay for the power and convenience of Alice. In addition to free shipping on every order, you’ll find great prices too.

Review: Bellwethers- Dryer Balls, Unique upcycled and earth friendly goods

THE REVIEW:
So recently one of my friends, Diana decided to start making dryer balls.  I had heard a little bit about dryer balls before but had never purchased any and figured this was a good time to buy some.

I bought 6 non scented dryer balls from Bellwethers.  Diana's customer service is amazing.  I had a problem with some of the dryer balls and she replaced them immediately.  I know that is hard for a small business to do, but she earned my business forever because of it.  We LOVE our dryer balls that we have right now.

They have cut our dryer time by about 25-40% (which I love since it saves us money!).  They have reduced the static and work great on our cloth diapers as well.

Bellwethers Dryer balls are hand crafted from eco friendly, 100% virgin wool.  They can be scented or non scented.

Bellwethers has since expanded from dryer balls to all sorts of unique up-cycled and earth friendly goods.  It is definitely worth your while to check it out.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:  Bellwethers has been an evolution in progress for Diana.  She started out by hand crafting 100% virgin wool dryer balls and has since really branched out into the upcycling world.  Her products are unique and amazing.  You can't imagine how many beautiful creations you can remake from simple neckties, t-shirts, old sweaters, buttons and old jeans!

ABOUT THE OWNER:   Diana lives in Shepherdstown, WV with her 2 boys, Logan and Rhys and her wonderful husband Claudio.  She is trying to live her life long dream of having her own small business.  She recently found fiber arts and fell in love with all the things that can be done with wool.  Since having children, her perspective has changed and she now puts on emphasis on being "green".  Wool is definitely a renewable resource and has so many uses.

Cascade 24 Hour Challenge Review and Giveaway

THE REVIEW:

So MyBlogSpark and P&G issued a challenge to bloggers:
1.  Bake a fruit cobbler.
2.  Set the empty baking dish out for 24 hours.
3.  Without rinsing, put it in the dishwasher with a Cascade Complete All-in-1 ActionPac.
4.  Blog about it.

We decided to make a strawberry rhubarb apple crisp.  And when I say we decided, I mean Greg was trying to figure out how to use up the rhubarb from the CSA.  It was delicious!  Yay Greg!  He even remembered to bake it in the dish the P&G sent us.

Photobucket

We left it out for at least 24 hours.  This time the we is probably me.  I hate to load and unload the dishwasher.
Photobucket

Then without rinsing we put it in the dishwasher with a Cascade Complete All-in-1 ActionPac.  This time the we is Greg again.  Amazingly enough, the dish came out perfectly clean.
Photobucket

I have to be honest that I was really skeptical.  We have a really old junky dishwasher and ALWAYS need to pre-wash and sometimes really scrub things before we put them in the dishwasher to get them clean.  And this food was really stuck to the dish.  And as you can see, it looks fantastic.  I am very impressed.

FROM THE COMPANY:
Product Benefits:
Cascade Complete® All-in-1 ActionPacs™ give you the confidence of a job done right. They break down, dissolve, and rinse away tough food particles without the need to prewash.

Pledge Multi-Surface Cleaner Review

THE REVIEW:

I have posted this before (probably many times, LOL). I do not like to clean. I have a bucket with all sorts of cleaners- bathroom, kitchen, glass, wood. You get the point. And then I carry it around while I am cleaning. Hate it. So of course I was so excited to be given the opportunity to review Pledge Multi-Surface Cleaner.

And it really is a multi-surface cleaner. I used it to clean my kitchen counters, stove-top, wood dining room table and the inside of my kitchen windows. It worked great on all of them. It comes in two different scents: Rainshower and Lavendar Fresh. I tried Lavendar Fresh and I really like it. But I did find that it was a little strong since I used to clean up so many different surfaces.

FROM THE COMPANY:
Clean more. Faster.
When your home comes together, it's a beautiful place to be. But with so many different surfaces, it can be time-consuming to keep them all looking great. Now, with Pledge® Multi Surface, you can move from surface to surface, room to room, cleaning and dusting in no time at all. Get the streak-free clean of Pledge® Multi Surface and love all the surfaces in your home equally.

Safely cleans many surfaces:
Wood Wood Laminate Plastics Stainless Steel
Glass Mirrors Electronics Granite

* Easy to hold and easy to spray.
* Anti-static formula is great for cleaning electronics.
* Removes dust, dirt, and smudges.
* Is perfect for a streak-free clean.
* Does not leave a residue.

I would strongly recommend this product to everyone.

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Decor Canister Review and Giveaway

THE REVIEW:

I have already admitted (many times) that I am not a clean and tidy person by nature. But I am getting better at it, I swear (just don't come and look at my house, LOL). I love clorox wipes. They are so easy to use. Just grab one, wipe and you are done. How much easier can it get? Well, it just got easier- Clorox has just come out with Disinfecting Wipes in stylish Decor canisters. How does it make it easier, you may ask? Simple, I now keep them on the counter in the kitchen and whenever I finish anything I use one. My kitchen is cleaner than it has ever been. I actually just went out and got another canister of them because they are just that awesome! And the designs are actually really nice and should be able to look great in whatever room you want to keep it in.

From Clorox:
With Clorox Disinfecting Wipes new Décor canisters, the days of hiding cleaning products under the sink are over. The new line of wipes, just introduced by Clorox, comes in eight designs that combine form, fashion and function to put cleaning within reach.

"When we put the task to the design team, we started by asking why can't cleaning be easy -- and easy on the eye?" said Lisa Partnoy, marketing manager, Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. "The new Décor line reinvents disinfecting, enabling you to say goodbye to messes with style."

But the new wipes are more than just a pretty face. In addition to redesigning packaging -- from the sleek shape and wider mouth of the canister to the graphic modern feel of the designs, the Clorox wipes team also created a new effortless single sheet dispensing system that makes cleaning as simple as flip, pull and wipe, without sacrificing any of the disinfecting power of their namesake wipes.

Are you ready to win? Two lucky winners will receive a coupon for a Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Decor Canister.

Windex All In One Outdoors Review and Giveaway

THE REVIEW:

I have said it before and I will say it again- I don't like to clean. I have so much going on in my life at all times that cleaning sometimes gets put on the back burner. Anything that can make it easier for me to clean will always peak my interest. When I was given the chance to review Windex Outdoors All in One I was pretty excited.

It is a new glass cleaning tool that provides a faster, easier way to clean outdoor windows. It is pretty amazing- it can reach up to 11 feet so that you can safely and easily tackle tough outdoor dirt without using a ladder and you can clean 20 windows with a single pad (but you can get refills when you need it). And it is super easy to use- all you do is spray the outside window and cleaning pad with the garden hose, wipe the window with the cleaning pad and then rinse the window with the garden hose. No need to get on a ladder and hand dry your windows. Because it is Windex, you know that there will be no streaks or spotting.

We absolutely loved it- it was absolutely fool-proof. I now have clean windows and it was actually easy. I won't say that I liked cleaning the windows, but I will say that I did not mind (and that is a big deal for me).

Do you want to try it yourself? One lucky winner will receive one starter kit.

Nature's Source Bathroom Cleaner Review and Giveaway

THE REVIEW:
SC Johnson has a new natural line of cleaning products called Nature's Source. They combine simple, plant based cleaners with the power of Windex and Scrubbing Bubbles.

The product line includes:
* Nature's Source Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner by Windex
* Nature's Source Natural All-Purpose Cleaner by Scrubbing Bubbles
* Nature's Source Natural Bathroom Cleaner by Scrubbing Bubbles
* Nature's Source Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner by Scrubbing Bubbles

They are packaged in recyclable bottles, and Nature's Source cleaners contain more than 99 percent natural and biodegradable ingredients. They do not contain ammonia, bleach, or phosphorus.

I was able to review Nature's Source Natural Bathroom Cleaner by Scrubbing Bubbles. I have always loved the Scrubbing Bubbles Cleaners so I was very excited to find out that they now have a natural cleaning line.

I actually like it better than the original Scrubbing Bubbles! It is awesome! I can not believe how well it works! It is mild enough that I was able to use it without gloves and has a nice mild scent. It just did a spectacular job. I am very impressed.

One lucky winner is going to win a bottle of Nature's Source Cleaner.

SC Johnson Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair Review and Giveaway

THE REVIEW:

We have two cats. And they shed. A LOT. We have tried all sorts of stuff to get the cat hair up. We tried those roller sticks. We tried sticky sheets (these worked okay, but we used a TON of them). So when given the opportunity to review the SC Johnson Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair, of course I jumped at the chance.

It is really cool! And it actually works really really well! I pulled it out of the box and moved it back and forth on the sofa. Oh my goodness! I knew that we had cat hair on the sofa, but the amount that I was able to take off using the Fabric Sweeper is just incredible (I can't decide if I am excited that we got so much cat hair off the sofa, or a little concerned that there was so much there in the first place, LOL). The Fabric Sweeper picks up as much pet hair as 145 sticky sheets!

From the website:

Great for:

* Upholstered couches and chairs—so you can sit back and relax.
* Pillows and cushions—Pledge™ Fabric Sweeper is great for removing pet hair from throw pillows, couch cushions, and bed pillows.
* Car interiors—great for cleaning pet hair off upholstered car seats so you can roll down the window, without stirring up pet hair.

Directions for use:

1. Slide side-to-side on upholstered furniture using moderate pressure. Use short strokes of about 8-12 inches in each direction (as indicated by the arrows on the sweeper).
2. Fabric Sweeper is self-cleaning! As you go in one direction, one roller picks up the pet hair from the surface. When you go in the other direction, the second roller cleans off the first and pushes the pet hair inside.
3. If pet hair builds up on the rollers, repeat the side-to-side motion a few times on a clean area of the upholstery.

The best part- Sara Rose can use it. It is that easy. Seriously. My 21 month old can use it. She thought she was such a big girl helping mommy clean!

Want to try it out yourself (or have your toddler try it out)? You may be in luck!

THE GIVEAWAY:

One lucky winner is going to win their own Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair.

To enter:
Head on over to the Pledge Fabric Sweeper site and leave me a comment letting me know where you would use the Fabric Sweeper if you are the winner. Do not just say "Enter Me", I will delete these comments. Don't forget to leave a way for me to contact you in the comment. If you are the winner, you have 3 days to claim your prize before I pick a new winner, so please remember to check back here.
