The Freecycle Network- Changing the World One Gift at a Time

Ok, so I know that Freecycle is not a WAHM, or even a product really. But I do think that it is such an important resource and want to make sure that you all know about it. It is a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer. Membership is free.
We have found (and given) all sorts of stuff on Freecycle. I needed a sewing machine- found it on Freecycle, had an extra coffee table- gave it away to someone who needed it, someone posted a wanted ad for a sleeper sofa- we had one that we wanted to get rid of. It really is wonderful.
I mean, saving money and the environment at the same time while also getting rid of
clutter...it does not get much better than that.

So head on over and find your local freecycle group now.

Designing Hilary- 57 Design Studio

On of the social networks that I post on is Skwiggazine. Pretty cool place. There is a blog-ring that I am part of and each week, I will be posting about a different member.
This week is Hilary from Designing Hilary. She does amazing beadwork and I must say that the thing that I absolutely LOVE is her ID badge holders. In my full-time job I have an ID badge. And it is on a boring plain old chain. I would LOVE to have one of these wonderful ID badges to put my ID on instead.

Head on over to her Etsy shop, I promise it will be worth your time.

Jonny Bottoms-Home of the Zip Pocket Diaper

So you all know that I use cloth diapers. One of the neatest ones I have seen are Jonny Bottoms Zipped Pocket Diapers (ZPD). Julianna is the owner of Jonny Bottoms and she came up with the idea for the zipped pocket.

A pocket diaper is like a waterproof envelope with an absorbent layer, (doubler, contour, prefold, insert) stuffed into an opening (makes sense right?). Normally you have to put the insert in through a top or bottom opening. With the ZPD you just unzip it down the middle! It really is so neat. And she makes the most beautiful diapers. Just look at this one that is for sale right now.

The Grid- an online, interactive art project involving artists from all over the world

Okay so this is not a product that you can buy, but I just think it is such a neat idea. The Grid is an online, interactive art project involving artists from all over the world. It is a fun experiment that Corinne Sullivan from Day Dream Arts Studio is doing. It is open to artists of all genres.
Check it out and take a look at Corrinne's work as well.

I got one of these buttons since my tutus are on it

Graphicz Addicts- For Learning, Sharing, and Custom Signatures

I have already mentioned that I post on an online parenting forum and that is where I met Melanie from Graphicz Addicts. I am borrowing this from Heather's page, it is a good explanation of signatures. "For those of you who don't participate in message boards, often users have images that show up at the bottom of all their posts. It's called a signature and it's a way to make your posts more personal. When you use a signature it's easier for people to put a personality to a screenname which may be something like User135. Signatures can include text, pictures, links and animated images called 'blinkies'."

Mel makes custom signatures and blinkies. And I must say that they are pretty great. I have had Mel make some for me in the past. They really can help to make your signature stand out when you are posting on a big forum. Mel also has a blog so that you can stay up to date with all her great stuff.

Baby Steals- It's not just a deal, it's a steal!

I actually thought about not posting this website, because well, I did not know if I wanted to share (LOL)... It has some of the greatest bargains on baby and maternity items that I have ever seen and I was thinking that the less people who knew about it the better (I mean the better for me). I mean normally below 50% retail. But then I came to my senses and realized that I needed to share with everyone.
babysteals.com sells one quality baby product at a time at an unbelievable price!
They are a company of moms. They offer one new product a day on Monday through Friday, and when they are sold out, it is over! You can purchase 3 of every item.
I have this website bookmarked so I can check it every morning to see what steal is being offered. They also have a blog where they will sometimes offer hints about upcoming steals.

In addition to the amazing prices, the customer service is also AMAZING. I recently had a problem with an order (because you know I order stuff all the time) and contacted them and they had it corrected ASAP. Just wonderful! Please go and check them out!

BabySteals.com
Where mommies get quality, name brand baby and maternity products
at the best prices on the web. One deal at a time until it's sold out!

List Plan It- Lists to Put Your World in Order

I actually found this product by way of Entrecard. In my card-dropping I found List Mama Blog. Talk about a resource for the busy mommy! Oh my goodness! Jennifer is the founder of ListPlanIt.com where you can find over 300 lists and planning pages to organize your life and put your world in order!
On her blog she happened to be doing a giveaway and I won a Meals ePlanner. Well, it is just spectacular. I absolutely love it and am sure that it is going to be a great help with meal-planning. The thing I love about it is the time it saves, anything that saves me time gets a thumbs up in my book. ListPlanIt.com actually has 16 ePlanners and all are $4.95 each! You can read more about the ePlanners here.

Grumpy Cow- Original Blogger Designs

I decided that it was time to change my layout and design. I know, I know, I only had this blog for a week and I am already changing the design. But I had to, really once I found all of Agi's designs, I really had to. I was surfing around last night dropping Entrecards and I found Grumpy Cow. I sent Agi a message asking if they could do any 3 column templates, because I just loved what I saw on the site. I said I was looking for purple, peaceful and flowers. Exactly what I got right? In addition, Agi also made me a new button for my entrecard (that I will post later). Considering I spent $15 for an custom-made one of a kind blog and an entrecard button, I am pretty darn happy. And for those of you who don't want to spend any money, there are some pretty spectacular free designs as well. And if you use the free designs and want a custom header, you can get one for $2! I know it is a pretty new site, so I would totally take advantage and run over there now and get a new design. Trust me, you'll love it!

Sassy Style- A Personal Touch for Your Special Moments in Time

I was looking for something neat for Father's Day. Greg said that he really did not want anything. And the thing is, I don't think he does. I actually did not give him a gift for Father's Day last year, because, well, I gave him a baby, so I figured that counted. But this year I wanted to do something different, other than the usual- video games, computer stuff, clothes.
Luckily for me, Jen from Sassy Style was looking for pictures for her portfolios. Photobucket
Adorable, right?

Jen creates your one of a kind announcement, invitation, scrapbook pages, thank you cards and more! If you can dream it, she can make it. You can choose one of her current designs, or have her create something just for you. She offer printing, or she gives you the choice of printing yourself.

My personal favorite thing that she carries is an emergency card kit. This is perfect for the busy mommy (like myself). It is a "kit" with cards for all occasions - you keep it around your house, and when that birthday pops up, you grab, fill it out with your personal message and go! The really cool part is YOU choose how many cards (minimum of 10 per order), the style (colors, wording, etc), the occasions - all of it! It's 100% custom, all for you.

Also, right now she is running a giveaway for a $25 gift certificate on her blog. Head on over there and leave a caption for the picture by Friday (June 20th)!

Bows 2 Cute- Bows for Fine, Thin or Barely There Hair

When I was born, the first picture taken of me was with a bow in my hair because I had so much hair that it needed to be kept out of my eyes. So imagine my shock and dismay when Sara Rose came out with just little wisps of hair. I wanted desperately to be able to put cute little bows in her hair and was so upset that I was going to have to wait until you know, she actually got hair (which only happened recently).
And then I found Bows 2 Cute. Jamie, the owner, actually posts on an online parenting forum with me. And thank goodness for that! She makes the most spectacular bows. I mean I bought some that we were able to put in Sara's hair (and that is a stretch to call it hair, LOL). And they are absolutely adorable. Jamie actually does something to make them non-slip. Which is amazing since that means that they really will stay in barely there hair.
Also, check out her blog where she posts discounts and new designs.

Maternal Spark- Where Creative Moms Capture the Spark

I know I just reviewed a blog but I have another spectacular blog that I need to share. My good friend Heather has a blog for creative moms and it is really amazing. She has a feature mom every week, and on the other days, she just has really interesting articles that she writes. For example, the last post on her blog is How to steal time for creativity - 5 tips. I find it inspiring that even with all the craziness that came along with a new baby she still finds the time to be creative.
The blog is centered around creative women. Who they are, how they work considering family life and what being a creative soul means to them. If you are a creative mom, head on over there and check it out.

She is also doing a pretty darn spectacular giveaway right now. The drawing will take place in about a week or so, so hurry over there.

Love is...New Additions To The Family- A Blog Review

So this is my first review that is not for a product but for a blog. Love is...New Additions To The Family is the brain-child of a group of friends. They are all mommies of toddlers and all of us have 4+ children. I found it because one of the mommies is my blogger friend, Debi. I found Debi's blog one day in my web-travels and was instantly hooked- she is mom to 9 kids, including toddler twins & 3 teenagers and she is just spectacular. So when she told me about this blog she was doing with other women like her, I knew that I HAD to start reading it.
The idea behind Love is...New Additions To The Family is to give you their best kept secrets, remedies, recipes, finds and whatever else has helped them along the way with raising multiples in a house full of children & love. They blog about recipes, money saving tips, behavior solutions, etc.
Head on over there and check them out!
(you can find a button for their blog on the right-hand side of our blog)

Restored 3:16 Designs- Custom website design, templates, and storefronts

Lauren from Restored 3:16 Designs is a WAHM owned business offering custom blog design and web banners. I "met" Lauren when she contacted me about designing Sara Rose Tutus. Of course I took her up on it and look how beautiful it is now. Lauren was amazing to work with, she made sure that my blog looked exactly how I wanted it.

Of course when I needed a 125x125 button made, I emailed her and told her that I needed it ASAP, and she had 2 designs for me to choose from immediately. She has also designed my banner for my Etsy store.

In addition Lauren also does custom website design, templates, storefronts, and custom announcements.

Lauren is a Christian WAHM who has a passion for digital web design. It originally started after starting to do digital scrapbooking shortly after the birth of her daughter. The more she learned, the more she wanted to do things for other people. She wanted to offer services to women like herself that are looking into being a WAHM and starting their own e-commerce business.

Huggalugs vs Babylegs (and a giveaway!)

Welcome to my first comparison review post (and my first giveaway).
Every once in a rare while there will be weekend day that we have nothing planned. On days like that we will not put a proper outfit on Sara Rose. We will normally dress her in either a pair of BabyLegs or a pair of Huggalugs. They are both made to cover arms and legs of little kids and babies. And they both do their job. I personally find them to be pretty similar. However, I must say that I like the BabyLegs better. It seems like they just stay up better on Sara Rose's legs than the Huggalugs. And since that is actually the purpose of them, it makes the BabyLegs the winner in my book.

And now for the giveaway!
What else but a pair of BabyLegs or a pair of Huggalugs (pictures to come later of the pairs that I have)!
To enter just leave me a comment on this post and let me know which you like better and why.
I will be closing the giveaway on June 18, 2008. I will post the winner here. Please make sure that you are leaving an email address so I can get in touch with you if you win.

Kristin over at An Ordinary Life is giving away a Dyson DC25 vacuum. Go and check it out and maybe you will win!

Alpha Omega Diapers- One Size Embroidered Cloth Diapers

We use cloth diapers and we love them. You will probably be seeing quite a few cloth diaper reviews on this site. I especially love "one-size fits most" diapers. We bought a bunch of different kinds when Sara was newborn and they still fit. Amazing. I also love pretty diapers.
So when I found Alpha Omega Diapers, I was so excited. A one-sized diaper that is pretty and has beautiful embroidery! Oh my goodness. Then I realized how amazingly affordable it was, and well I had to buy at least one and I am hoping to buy more soon.
This is the diaper that I got and we absolutely love it.
We actually use it as a night-time diaper because it is absolutely bullet-proof. Susan actually has snaps on the back of the legs and the front which makes for a very good fit, especially for a one-size diaper. And if that is not enough- the opening for the insert is different than any I have seen before and my husband is even able to stuff these diapers!
In addition to having an excellent diaper, Susan also provides wonderful customer service. What more could you ask for...well, you might ask for a free wetbag. Susan is giving one away to the first 10 customers to place orders. So I would hurry up and place your order now!

Cape Bags- Handmade Dresses, Blouses, and Bags

I stumbled upon Cape Bags when I was looking for the perfect dress for Sara's first birthday party. Of course, being the busy mommy that I am, I was looking for it the week before Sara's birthday party. I found this dress on Friday, and Kim made it up specifically to Sara's size and had it in the mail to me by Saturday. I received it on Monday and Sara wore it to her birthday party.

Bella Tote- Attractive Reusable Totes

I purchased this tote from Bella Tote a month or so ago. It turns out that the maker of these totes, Erin, lives near me. And she dropped the tote off about an hour or so after I bought it. I absolutely love it and I use it all the time. When I have to take packages to the post office. Sometimes I use it to carry some of Sara's toys to my mom's. It holds up well to constant use and washing.

I just got the following message from Erin:
I'd also like to offer your readers a 10% discount on the purchase of any Bella Tote or Bella Tote set (only off the tote, not the shipping and handling). The code will be... (drumroll, please!)... "tututen" (cute, huh?!), discount valid through 7/31/08.
